Technical Description

The Heating and Cooling Degree Days Projections dataset provides projected average annual heating and cooling degree days based on a 65ºF threshold. A degree day is a measure of how much the average daily temperature deviates from this threshold, used to estimate heating and cooling energy demand. Using CMIP6 climate model projections of mean daily temperature, these data represent average annual degree days at decadal time steps from 2030-2090 under the SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5 scenarios.
