This dataset provides decadal projections of extreme cold risk for global land areas, quantifying potential wind chill anomalies over 10-year periods centered on each decade.
The Extreme Cold Anomaly Projection dataset provides projected risks of anomalous extreme cold events for global land regions. Using CMIP6 climate model projections of temperature and wind speed and a percentile-based approach to account for regional acclimatization, it presents decadal risk data (2030-2090) under the SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5 scenarios. Data are provided at an ~11 km spatial resolution as continuous anomaly frequencies (0-1) and categorical risk classes (1-5).
